Quest for CBS (Stout)
I hit my local Whole Foods Beer Market this afternoon to get a taste of Founders’s Canadian Breakfast Stout.
Loitered with a regular Breakfast Stout and met some local fellow craft beer nuts, stood in line with a Founders Imperial Stout, then read two chapters of Glen Cook’s classic The Black Company while sipping–a read as dark as the stout. ![]()
CBS was full and rich and aromatic and bourbon-y like KBS. Hard to compare it in my mind to the last draught KBS I had, last spring, but it had a mouth-feel that was slightly sticky or sugary, so maybe that was the maple syrup traces coming through.
