12-19-07: Guesting on Jeff VanderMeer's Blog
World Fantasy Award-winning author Jeff VanderMeer has temporarily turned over his blog Ecstatic Days to his wife Ann, the new editor of Weird Tales, and she has invited upcoming WT authors to write guest blog posts. With my forthcoming story in issue #347, she asked me for a contribution. My post should run sometime late next week, around Dec. 27th; I will announce it in my own blog when it does.

11-29-07: Weird Tales Website Redesign
Still no word on a Table of Contents or release date for Weird Tales #347, but they have done a snazzy redesign of their website. I hope the new site and all the other the buzz about Ann VanderMeer taking over the magazine will result in lots of people reading my story.

10-24-07: Update on Weird Tales #347 Release
I received a very nice e-mail from Stephen H. Segal, one of the management folks at Wildside Press, in response to my blog post about the release date of Weird Tales #347. That issue will be out in late November / early December. Incidently, those on-line comics stores that were showing an Oct. 17 release date still report this issue as not yet in stock. November awaits!

10-05-07: Capclave?
I may be attending this year's Capclave--I'm not sure yet. I really enjoyed Capclave 2005, when Howard Waldrop was the GOH. This year's lineup isn't quite as cool, but Wildside Press in the Dealer's Room might have pre-release copies of Weird Tales #347. Hmm...

09-30-07: Story in Weird Tales
My first SF/F sale, a short story called "Excision," is forthcoming in the Oct/Nov issue of Weird Tales magazine. That's the first issue of material selected by new editor Ann VanderMeer. Several on-line comics stores, including Mile High Comics, are reporting a release date of Oct. 17 for this issue. And they're showing the cover, with a cool picture of a severed head!
